Lower Extremity Intervention CPT ® Coding: From Imaging to Intervention
This 90-minute webinar covers essential CPT® coding for common lower extremity interventions—angioplasty, stenting, atherectomy, lithotripsy, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, and embolization. It explains when diagnostic angiography can be coded separately under CPT® and NCCI rules and how clinical indications drive code selection. The session also reviews how lesion complexity affects coding, including new 2026 revascularization distinctions between straightforward and complex lesions.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify when diagnostic angiography may be reported separately from lower extremity interventional procedures based on CPT® and NCCI guidelines
- Understand how clinical indication treated impacts correct CPT code assignment
- Differentiate between straightforward and complex lesions for coding purposes
- Apply correct CPT® codes for lower extremity angioplasty, stent placement, atherectomy, lithotripsy, thrombectomy, thrombolysis, and embolization procedures
